EXAMINATION, PROMOTIONS & AWARDS

  • 1. In all classes, there will be periodical tests and term exams. Promotion is granted on the basis of the final result which takes into consideration of all the written exams and other assessments.
  • 2. Students will not be allowed to appear for a retest in periodical tests. Due consideration will be given to the medical ground at the time of promotion.
  • 3. The minimum pass mark is 40% in each subject. There is no Provision for general promotion.
  • 4. A pupil absent from examinations, without serious reasons, will be considered failed. Pupils who fail twice in the same class; must make their seats available to the hard-working students by leaving the school. They will not be allowed to continue in the school.
  • 5. If a student does not appear for annual examinations, he/ she will not be promoted.
  • 6. Minimum 75 % attendance is a must for promotion.
  • 7. Regular attendance in all examinations and good conduct is indispensable for obtaining badges, merit cards and proficiency prizes and scholarships. Absence from a regular examination / periodical test will exclude a pupil from being reckoned in the order of merit or rank.

PROMOTION CRITERIA

  • 1. Required Attendance: No student will be allowed to appear for the annual examination unless he/she has a minimum 75% of attendance counted since the opening of the session. Any pupil falling short of 22 the required percentage will not be granted a promotion to the next class. Medical certificates are no guarantee for consideration in the promotion. Students absenting themselves from any subject or part thereof or from an entire test shall not be given any division.
  • 2. The scheme of examination and promotion criteria shall be laid down by the school from time to time.
  • 3. Qualifying marks in each subject shall be 40%. In a subject (including practical work), a student must obtain 40% marks in the theory and 40% marks in the practical separately.
